How to Stay Out of Trouble When Everyone Around You is Losing

Trouble doesn’t just happen in life. There are warning signs that lead up to the actual incident that gets you in trouble. The choices you make, the people you hang around with all play a factor. If you pay attention to your surroundings, you can predict trouble before it happened.

You want to stay out of trouble? You have to move different. You can’t save everybody, but you can save yourself.

Recognize the Setup

Most people don’t crash out overnight. It happens in phases—little choices stacking up until they turn into one big mistake.

Your homies start acting funny style. They get excited about a little money but don’t have any long-term plans. They talking about “quick licks” and “fast money.” That’s a setup.

People dragging you into their bullshit. Somebody’s got drama, and suddenly, they expect you to ride for them. If it ain't your problem, keep it that way.

Too much flexing, too much attention. You got dudes posting every move, showing off their spot, and making themselves a target. And when they go down, they take everybody with them. Instagram hutlsers.

If you see these signs around you, move around. Staying close to chaos means sooner or later, you’ll be part of it.

Cut Off the Weak Links

If you’re the only one in your circle thinking about the future, you’re in the wrong circle.

If your homies are broke, bitter, and blaming everybody else, they ain’t trying to win.

If they’re still talking about the same dumb shit y’all did years ago, they ain’t growing.

If they’re taking stupid risks with their freedom, why would you keep yourself in that mix?

Look at any successful person—they don’t hang around losers.  If you keep rolling with people who are broke and making excuse, you’re going to fall right in line with the same mindset. Get away from them as fast as possible.

Have a Bigger Goal Than Just “Getting By”

Most people ain’t thinking past next week. That’s why they never make it past where they are right now.

They wanna make money, but they ain’t thinking about how to keep it.

They wanna be respected, but they don’t realize how they move determines their value.

They think short-term, and that’s why they never build nothing long-term.

You have to have a bigger purpose than just “not being broke.”

If you wanna start a business, start learning how to run one.

If you wanna get your money right, learn how to make your money work for you.

If you wanna stay outta trouble, don’t put yourself in places where trouble happens.

Most dudes who end up locked up are there because they didn’t have the discipline to walk away from a situation or avoid a certain group of people?

Stay Out the Way

If you don’t wanna get burned, stay out the fire.

You don’t need to be at every party.

You don’t need to prove yourself to people who don’t matter.

You don’t need to be in places where people got nothing to lose.

Because when shit hits the fan? Ain’t nobody gonna save you.

Your so-called “homies” ain’t taking the fall for you.

That girl you were trying to impress. She’ll have someone else busting her cheeks before you can get fingerprinted in the county.

The system has a bed space waiting for you and a job on standby.

Real bosses don’t waste time in places that don’t benefit them. They move smart, they move with purpose, and they move in silence.

The Bottom Line

The streets don’t love you. The hood don’t give a damn about you. And the people you thought had your back? They won’t be there when you need them. Out of sight out of mind.

You either stay in the game and win, or you play stupid and lose. The choice is yours.
